The year 2007 is the centenary of Scouting and along with members of the Scouting movement worldwide we have a number of event planned for the year. Our programme throughout the year will have a variety of activities connected to the core theme set out below.

History of Scouting

We will undertake a project to find out as much as we can about Scouting in our town (Buxton) during the last 100 years. We will find out as much as we can and add it to a history page that will become a permanent part of this web site and a repository for the town.

We will undertake a project to find out as much as we can about Scouting in Harpur Hill during the past 100 years. We will find out as much as we can and add it to a history page that will become a permanent part of this web site and a repository for the group's history.

We will try to track down former member of the group In order to give us a view of how many people have had their lives touched or influenced by being a member of  our group.

We will present a summary of what we have learned to parents later in the year.

Centenary Camp

We held a special Centenary Camp in May to mark the 100 years that has passed since the first experimental camp held on Brownsea Island by Robert Baden-Powell.

In preparation for the camp we made our own hand made old fashioned "uniforms".

Group Activities

We will take part in a Group sunrise activity later in the year. All members of the group will have the opportunity to join in.

We will take part in the County organised St Georges Day event at Alton Towers where we will renew our promise.
