Akela - The official name for your Cub Scout Leader Buxton - The town in which our Cub Pack is based Camp weekends - Brilliant fun just ask someone who has been on one County - A scout County comprises a number of Districts (our county is Derbyshire) Cub Pack - A unit of up to 36 cubs District - A geographical collection of Scout groups Evening out - sometimes we meet somewhere other than the Meeting Hall (but we always let parents know by letter) Flag Break - The beginning ceremony of a cub meeting Grand Howl - Ask Akela Hand up - Shhh quiet! Harpur Hill - The village/locality on the south side of Buxton where we meet Invisible Ink - Learn how to make it - do your Communicators Badge Jamboree - different types but Jamboree's on the air and on the internet are gaining popular support Knots - some can be found framed in the meeting hall Letters - things all good cubs should ensure get delivered to parents Mothering Sunday - One of the three smart uniform events we all turn out for Nowhere - to go on a Thursday evening - your mates are having a great time at cubs so why not join them Orienteering - an activity that tests your map and compass skills Pack Circle - The gathering around Akela and the flag Past Members (list of) Points - can be earned by each Cub each week Queen - we promise to do our duty to God and the Queen Remembrance Sunday - One of the three smart uniform events we all turn out for Silence - a period that falls upon the meeting hall about 8:30 every Thursday Semaphore - communicating with flags St George's Day - One of the main three smart uniform events we all turn out for each year Trips out - organised events that generally compliment the syllabus Uniform - something we keep smart and take great pride in Volunteers - all the leaders give their time to make the evenings a success Woggle - worn to hold ones necker on Woodbeads - get Akela to show you hers XXX - to put on the bottom of your Christmas card to Akela (to show her you care)!
